Boguslaw Buszewski received PhD degree at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Slovak Technical University in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia in 1986. In 1992 he reached the Doctor of Sciences (habilitation) degree. In 1994 he received Nicolaus Copernicus University professor position, in 1999 received the title of professor of chemistry and in 2000 received full professor of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. His main scientific interests are concerned with environmental analysis, chromatography and related techniques (HPLC, SPE, GC, CZE, adsorption, sample preparation), spectroscopy, utilization of waste and sludge and chemometrics. He is authored or co-authored 15 books, patents and more than 450 scientific papers (h= 38) and member of the editorial boards of 26 national and international journals in field of analytical chemistry and separation sciences. Professor Bogusław Buszewski was president of the European Society for Separation Science (EuSSS) but now he is president of the Central European Group for Separation Sciences (CEGSS).

Hiroki Kuwano received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in mechanical engineering and his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Tohoku University in 1975, 1977, and 1990, respectively. He was working for Nippon Telephone and Telegraph Public Corporation (NTT) for 26 years. Since 2003, he has been a Professor at Tohoku University. His research interests are nano-energy systems, sensor networks, and surface acoustic wave devices. Author or co-author of two monographs on liquid chromatography and 250+ scientific papers in extenso published in refereed periodicals (150+ in the Current Contents covered Journals), and in proceedings and chapters of books, as well as 60+ patents (four of them were licensed) - cited more than 2,000 times in SCI journals and monographs. Presented over one hundred and ten invited plenary, key and main lectures, as well as over 900 lectures short communications and poster contributions during congresses, symposia and conferences and during lecturing tours to over fourty countries. Prof. Jacob de Boer is director of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at the VU University in Amsterdam. He is professor in Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology. He is Editor-in-Chief of Chemosphere. Since 2013 he is National Expert for China. His research interests are in method development and analysis of persistent organic contaminants, flame retardants and micro-plastics in the environment, indoor air and human samples. Kal is a member of Leicester Biotechnology Group that has a long track record of innovative work in the area of diagnostics and molecularly imprinted polymers and houses an inter-disciplinary team of chemists, engineers and biologists. Gerhard Kratz has completed his studies at University of Applied Sciences in Berlin. His dissertation was about Planning, calculation and construction of a Fluidized bed reactor. Deepening during his studies was Water economy, chemical technology, plastic technology, varnish and paints, oil processing. First positions in industry were in pharmaceutical industry doing HPLC method development on various HPLC brands. Specialized in HPLC column selection and teaching customers in troubleshooting all over the world he is supporting several internet forums for HPLC questions. He is interested in troubleshooting.

A leading expert on Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs) and biosensors Sergey Piletsky is a Professor of Bioanalytical Chemistry at University of Leicester and Head of Leicester Biotechnology Group. Leicester Biotechnology Group is prime centre involved in research and development of MIPs and their application in biosensors for environmental, clinical, industrial and food applications. Molecular imprinting of polymers represents the most generic, versatile, scalable and cost-effective approach to the creation of synthetic molecular receptors. Prof. Piletsky supervised work of numerous MSc and PhD students and published over 270 peer-reviewed papers and patent applications. Stephen M Husbands has completed his Postdoctoral from University of Bristol and PhD from University of Strathclyde. He uses medicinal chemistry to develop a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying neuropsychological diseases, in particular drug abuse, but also including depression and anxiety. To this end, both highly selective ligands and, more recently, ligands targeted at multiple receptors are designed and synthesized, along with specific pharmacological tools such as irreversible and radiolabeled ligands which allow us to study changes in the chemistry of the brain. Manipulation of the duration of activity of ligands has also been a theme within recent years.

Dr. Rogatsky serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Chromatography and Separation Techniques (OMICS publishing group). During the last 10 years (from 2005), Dr. Rogatsky has published over 30 scientific papers in per-reviewed journals (mostly as the first author) and has presented over 50 posters and lectures. Overall, he has made more than a hundred scientific presentations and publications. Dr. Rogatsky completed his M.Sc. in physical chemistry at Belarus State University (former USSR) in 1990. He completed his PhD in bioanalytical chemistry (Bar-Ilan University, Israel) in 1998. At the end of 1999, he started his post-doctorate at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and became a faculty member since 2001 and was a mass spectrometry director at the Biomarker Analytical Resource Core. From October 2015 Dr. Rogatsky is a supervisor of the Chemical Threat Laboratory in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences at Wadsworth Center, Albany NY, USA.

Dr Wayne Grant Carter received his Honours degree in Biochemistry with Nutrition from the University of Southampton. He then completed a PhD at the University of Southampton studying the molecular signalling cascade elicited by insulin supervised by Dr Graham Sale. Dr Carter then moved to the Babraham Institute, Cambridge, to work with Professor Jeremy Saklatvala, on studies to elucidate the signalling mechanisms activated as a response to pro-inflammatory cytokines. Dr Carter then relocated with Professor Saklatvala's group to the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, part of Imperial College, London. Subsequently, Dr Carter moved to the University of California at Irvine to work with Professor Dana Aswad, similarly studying protein damage and repair. Dr Carter then joined the Department of Human Anatomy & Genetics headed by Professor Dame Kay Davies CBE FRS at the University of Oxford, before moving to take up an industrial post with Mobious Genomics, Exeter. In 2003, Dr Carter joined the Medical Research Council Applied Neuroscience Group at the University of Nottingham headed by Professor David Ray. He then established his own research group at the University of Nottingham ,where he is currently a Principal Investigator and Lecturer at the University of Nottingham Medical School site within the Royal Derby Hospital, Derby. In addition, Dr Carter has worked within the School of Sport Exercise & Health Sciences at Loughborough University, headed by Professor Myra Nimmo .

Bill Whitford is Sr. Manager, Cell Culture, GE Healthcare in Logan, UT with over 20 years experience in biotechnology product and process development. He joined the company 13 years ago as a team leader in R&D developing products supporting biomass expansion, protein expression and virus secretion in mammalian and invertebrate cell lines. Products he has commercialized include defined and animal product-free hybridoma media, fed-batch supplements, and aqueous lipid dispersions. An invited lecturer at international conferences, Bill has published over 250 articles, book chapters and patents in a number of fields in the bioproduction arena. He now enjoys such industry activities as serving on the editorial advisory board for BioProcess International.
